A Shepherd Rests

Moses

As winter comes and the leaves fall, the bare trees always reveal a huge pile of rocks tossed here when my house was built. Every fall, I think about renting a loader and getting rid of this eyesore. But this year, I was inspired to make a seated statue of Moses resting with his staff.

What better way to redeem my “eyesore” than by gracing it with a statue?

This was one of my more technically difficult sculptures to date since all the sculptures angles had to fit the rock pile’s existing angles.

We would like to thank Caroline Fisher for her photographs of this sculpture.
